Crypto Confidence Fades as Central Banks Signal Aggressive Monetary Policy

Share

A mixed environment continues to characterize the cryptocurrency market in September, where short-term confidence has struggled to stabilize.

This situation is linked to the latest inflation data released in the United States, which reinforces the possibility of a more aggressive central bank environment over the coming months.

The European Central Bank raised its deposit rate to 2.5%, and market probabilities assign a 61% chance of another rate increase toward 2.75% at the October 28 meeting.

The U.S. CPI data also showed annual inflation at 3.4% in line with expectations, but failed to show a meaningful reduction in underlying inflationary pressures, strengthening expectations for a more aggressive Federal Reserve.

Higher interest rates may increase the attractiveness of stable markets while reducing liquidity available for higher-risk assets like cryptocurrencies.
