Crypto Exchange Shutdowns Continue: ABFinance Joins BitMart, BitMEX, and AscendEX

Share

ABFinance, a US-based crypto exchange founded by ByBit's former CEO Helen Liu, has closed its doors after just six months in operation.

Liu stepped down from her co-CEO role at ByBit on April 30. ABFinance announced last Friday that it would no longer be launching and is instead 'winding down in an orderly manner.'

This closure follows the shutdowns of BitMart, BitMEX, and AscendEX over the past six weeks, leaving users concerned about their funds.

BitMart's founder has threatened legal action against posts demanding transparency on user funds, while BitMEX will close in September with $270 million in a house insurance fund. AscendEX shut down after it was discovered that the exchange was missing large sums of various assets from its reserves.
