Crypto Exchange Shutdowns Signal Market Bottom, Says Fundstrat's Tom Lee
Fundstrat co-founder Tom Lee believes that recent cryptocurrency exchange shutdowns could signal an upcoming market bottom.
Lee made this comment on X after BitMart, one of the world's largest exchanges by trading volume, announced it would be winding down its trading platform. BitMEX has also confirmed plans to cease operations later this year.
The closures have sparked discussions about the bear market's brutality. Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) had also opined that this could be a market bottom signal in a now-deleted tweet, but his exact words were not preserved.
Lee is optimistic about Ethereum's long-term outlook, arguing it is entering its '2.0' phase and has the potential to become the dominant settlement layer for both traditional finance and AI agents.
