Crypto Exchange Software Buyers Must Look Beyond Feature Lists
Crypto exchange software buyers often approach their purchase like any other business software transaction. They list features, request demos, compare pricing, and pick the one that checks most boxes.
This process may work well for CRM or project tools but falls short when it comes to crypto exchange software. The stakes are higher due to regulatory exposure and technical complexity.
A key problem is the feature list trap: nearly every platform claims to offer order book trading, spot and derivatives markets, wallet integration, KYC and AML workflows, and API access. However, this doesn't reveal whether those capabilities are production-grade or how they perform under load.
When evaluating exchange software, buyers should treat feature parity as a minimum requirement and ask more challenging questions instead. This includes examining liquidity architecture, compliance infrastructure, custody and wallet architecture, matching engine performance, and deployment model considerations.
