Crypto Exchanges Expand Beyond Cryptos with $6.6B Tokenized TradFi Growth
The market for tokenized traditional assets has grown significantly on crypto exchanges, according to a report by CoinGecko. The study found that this market capitalization reached $6.6 billion in June 2026, up from $1.4 billion in January 2025.
This growth is largely driven by the expansion of crypto exchanges into traditional assets such as tokenized precious metals and US equities. Binance, OKX, Bybit, Bitget, Gate, and MEXC are among the exchanges that have seen significant activity in these areas.
The report notes that perpetual futures account for the majority of trading activity in this market, while spot markets remain relatively small. This is due to the popularity of leveraged products and the ability of exchanges to list perpetual contracts without issuing or custodying the underlying tokenized assets.
