Crypto Exchanges Merge Traditional Finance with Cryptocurrency
Stock and gold trading on crypto exchanges is no longer a niche story. Major platforms are increasingly adding traditional financial instruments, transforming from ordinary venues for digital coin transactions into a hybrid market where cryptocurrency, tokenized stock (finance), ETFs, bonds, gold, and pre-IPO asset contracts coexist.
The CoinGecko TradFi on Crypto Exchanges Report 2026 recorded a significant market shift. The online digital currency exchange service is no longer limited to exchanging Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other coins: exchanges are integrating TradFi instruments and expanding their RWA, tokenized real asset, lineups.
According to CoinGecko analysts, on average, each exchange had 37 spot RWA listings and 75 perpetual contracts. The dynamics are especially noticeable from September 2025 to May 2026: turnover of perpetual futures on tokenized real assets increased 1,472 times.
