Crypto Execs Press White House for Clarity on Stalled Legislation
Senior executives from Coinbase and Ripple have stepped up their efforts to push the CLARITY Act through Washington, which aims to create a clearer federal framework for crypto markets.
The unresolved ethics language in the bill has emerged as the central obstacle preventing its progress. The White House met with Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong and Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse, among other industry leaders, to discuss what could be done to preserve bipartisan support for the legislation.
The CLARITY Act seeks to establish clearer division of responsibilities between regulators and provide a more defined federal framework for crypto markets. However, the remaining ethics provisions have become a sensitive political issue, with executives and policymakers still searching for language that can satisfy both parties.
