Crypto Executives Meet with Regulators Amid Ongoing Debate Over Clarity Act
Crypto executives are set to meet with regulators at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) on August 20. The meeting is expected to focus on crypto innovation and regulatory issues facing the industry.
The meeting comes as the Senate prepares for a procedural vote on the CLARITY Act, scheduled for September 15. The bill would establish a framework for digital assets and clarify the responsibilities of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and CFTC.
White House crypto adviser Patrick Witt stated that the administration remains committed to passing the CLARITY Act in September, calling it 'the result of years of genuine bipartisan work.' He added that lawmakers still have an opportunity to shape digital asset policy by supporting the bill.
