Crypto Exploits Reach Record $1.1 Billion in Six Months

Crypto exploits have caused record losses of $1.1 billion in the first half of this year, according to a new report from blockchain security firm Blockaid.

The report found that North Korea-linked groups were responsible for 55% of these losses, totaling $609 million.

Ethereum and Solana protocols suffered significant network-level hits, with losses of approximately $332 million and $326 million respectively.

Other major breaches included KelpDAO, which lost $292 million, and Drift Protocol, which lost $285 million. Both were tied to the same North Korea cluster.
