Crypto Funds Post Fifth Straight Week of Outflows
Crypto investment products have recorded five straight weeks of net outflows, totaling approximately $4 billion, according to CoinShares. The U.S. accounted for a significant portion of the selling, with $347 million in outflows from American funds last week.
European and Canadian investors took advantage of the price weakness, collectively posting $59 million in inflows, primarily driven by Switzerland's $19.5 million and Canada's $16.8 million investments.
Bitcoin-focused products drove a significant portion of the outflows, with $215 million of last week's redemptions, while short-Bitcoin products attracted $5.5 million in inflows, indicating some investors are positioning for further downside.
The five-week cumulative total remains below the roughly $6 billion recorded over a comparable period the prior year, but persistent redemptions and declining trading volumes suggest a meaningful cooling in institutional engagement.
