Crypto Hack Losses Hit Record $1 Billion in H1 2026
Crypto hack losses reached record levels in the first half of 2026, according to Blockaid's H1 2026 Security Report. The total loss was at least $1 billion.
The report found that Ethereum and Solana were the top two targets for hackers, with around $332 million and $326 million stolen respectively from these chains.
Most of the incidents involved smart contract exploits, with 125 out of 207 analyzed attacks linked to vulnerabilities in this area. The biggest attack occurred on KelpDAO, where hackers moved $292 million in crypto.
