Crypto Hits Mainstream as Over 67 Million Americans Own Digital Assets
Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse is declaring that cryptocurrency has officially moved into the mainstream. He points to recent data showing that over 67 million Americans now own digital assets, which represents roughly one in four U.S. adults.
The numbers come from a report by the National Cryptocurrency Association (NCA) and The Harris Poll, which surveyed 10,000 cryptocurrency holders. The results show that crypto ownership is broadening beyond high-income households, with 90% of holders earning less than $500,000 annually and 23% making $75,000 or less.
Garlinghouse also notes that interest in crypto is growing among existing holders, with nearly two-thirds (63%) saying they are more interested in using digital assets now than they were last year.
