Crypto Holders Ready to Vote: Policy Positions Take Center Stage in Midterm Elections
The upcoming 2026 midterm elections are now just 100 days away, and cryptocurrency holders are paying close attention to policy positions. According to Stand With Crypto, nearly 70% of surveyed crypto holders say a candidate's stance on cryptocurrency will influence their vote. A significant number, 73%, are closely monitoring which crypto policies members of Congress support.
This is not just about voting intentions; the survey also found that almost 80% of respondents are 'almost certain' to cast their ballot. The organization noted that crypto supporters have contacted Congress over 1 million times regarding related legislation, including the CLARITY Act.
The market's attention is focused on this bill, which aims to clarify the division of responsibilities between the SEC and the CFTC in digital asset regulation. Supporters believe the window for advancing legislation before the election-year agenda tightens is limited, while opponents argue that any new framework should maintain protections against fraud, market manipulation, and investor losses.
Crypto holders are not consistently supporting one political party, with 59% saying they do not have a consistent affiliation. This could signal that cryptocurrency policy may become a key issue in the elections.
