Crypto Industry Sees Turbulence as SEC Cancels Vote and Exchange Reserves Surge
Bitcoin faced fresh selling pressure as exchange reserves climbed, according to recent data. This comes as Ether.fi separated restaking exposure from its standard liquid staking product with a new weETHs vault.
The vault allows users to delegate part of their deposits to Symbiotic and has seen approximately $17.7 million in total value locked, with an annual percentage yield of 3.5%. Meanwhile, StablecoinX accumulated around 3 billion ENA tokens following a June transaction, representing about 40% of Ethena's governance-token supply.
The SEC canceled a planned vote on tailored crypto offering rules, and Bybit secured a US court injunction freezing assets linked to its $1.5 billion hack in February 2025. Trezor's shipping provider ShipMonk was also breached, exposing data belonging to around 13,689 hardware-wallet customers.
Trump Media, Crypto.com, and Yorkville ended their planned CRO treasury initiative due to prevailing market conditions and shifting priorities.
