Crypto Industry Shift: Compliance Officers Now in High Demand
In the first half of 2026, engineering specialties accounted for 34.1% of active vacancies in the global crypto industry.
This shift indicates that companies are looking for professionals with a range of skills beyond development, including financial monitoring, compliance, risk management, security, and operations control.
The Russian labor market has become more competitive, with the number of resumes increasing by about a third in the first half of 2026, while vacancies decreased by 19% year-on-year.
Crypto companies are now prioritizing compliance officers and risk managers over developers, says Olga Goncharova, head of the expert center for digital financial assets and digital currencies at the Association of Banks of Russia.
