Crypto Industry Spends $200 Million on Midterm Elections

Share

The crypto industry has poured nearly $200 million into the November midterm elections, emphasizing its influence in Congress. The sector is pushing lawmakers to pass legislation that will reshape federal oversight of digital assets.

This week is a crucial time for the bill before the Senate departs for August recess.

Fairshake, a major super political action committee created to support pro-crypto candidates, has spent $189 million on this year's elections. Much of that money was directed through two separate Democratic and Republican affiliate super PACs.

The top 10 congressional candidates supported by Fairshake are: Barry Moore (R), Andy Barr (R), Christian Menefee (D), Jasmine Clark (D), Adrian Boafo (D), Randy Fine (R), James Walkinshaw (D), Jessica Hart Steinmann (R), Houston Gaines (R), and Carlos De La Cruz (R).
