Crypto Industry Tops Record $206M in US Corporate Political Funding

Share

Crypto industry political donations have reached a record $206 million in the current US election cycle, surpassing contributions from every other corporate sector. According to Public Citizen's analysis of Federal Election Commission donation data, this total is part of a broader surge in corporate election spending, which has risen 40% above the previous record set in 2024.

The $646 million spent by corporations during the current cycle covers the 18 months through June 2026. This figure represents more than one-third of the $1.7 billion in corporate election spending recorded since the 2010 Citizens United ruling.

Crypto industry participants have made it clear that their priorities extend beyond gaining permission to operate. Founders and investors want federal rules that can remain in place even when administrations and agency leadership change.
