Crypto Industry Urges SEC to Tread Carefully with Novel ETF Regulations
The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has been urged by key industry players to adopt a more nuanced approach to regulating novel exchange-traded funds (ETFs).
A letter from venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) asked the SEC to evaluate these products based on their individual risk parameters, rather than imposing blanket restrictions.
a16z also requested that the SEC coordinate fund-registration and exchange-listing reviews, and adopt more predictable timelines for product launches.
Digital asset investment manager Grayscale and the Crypto Council for Innovation (CCI) supported optional confidential pre-filing processes and called for clearer registration-status disclosures.
