Crypto Leaders Predict AI Agents Will Radically Transform Finance
Cryptocurrency founders and leaders are bullish on AI agents, predicting their widespread adoption in the coming years. Brian Armstrong, CEO of Coinbase, recently stated that AI agents will outnumber people in the economy and asked his followers when they expect an 'Agentic Finance flippening' to happen, referring to a point where agent-to-agent payment volume exceeds human-to-human volume.
Armstrong's assertion aligns with Vitalik Buterin's view on the rise of AI agents. As CEO of Ethereum, Buterin emphasized the importance of the Ethereum network in facilitating AI agent transactions and negotiations. Other notable founders, such as Circle's Jeremy Allaire, Tron's Justin Sun, and Binance's Changpeng Zhao, have also expressed optimism about AI agents' potential.
A report by Galaxy Research suggests that AI agents could evolve into 'zero-human companies,' handling capital deployment and investment on-chain. McKinsey estimates that AI agents could mediate $3-5 trillion in global consumer commerce by 2030, with the U.S. expected to host up to $1 trillion in B2C retail revenue.
