Crypto Liquidity Shifts: Ethereum Dominance Challenged by Rising Competitors
The crypto liquidity landscape is undergoing significant changes, with various networks and market sectors experiencing shifts in activity.
Ethereum still holds the largest stablecoin reserves, but other chains are gaining traction. Solana has emerged as a leading spot decentralized exchange (DEX) platform, while Hyperliquid dominates on-chain perpetual trading.
The latest data shows that the largest stablecoin base does not necessarily translate to the highest trading activity. For instance, Solana generates more DEX volume than Ethereum despite holding a much smaller stablecoin supply.
USDT remains the market's core liquidity asset, with about $183.5 billion in tracked supply, or around 60% of the total stablecoin market. USDC follows closely at $74.2 billion.
