Crypto Lobbyists Push Corrupt Bill Through Congress Amid $189 Million Election Spending
US Senator Bernie Sanders has expressed concerns about the growing influence of cryptocurrency companies in politics. According to Sanders, these companies are lobbying Congress to pass what he calls a 'corrupt' bill known as the Clarity Act.
The bill aims to clarify certain aspects of cryptocurrency regulation, but Sanders believes it is being pushed through by crypto billionaires who have poured hundreds of millions of dollars into elections.
Sanders cited a report that revealed cryptocurrency companies spent $189 million on the midterm elections, accounting for 37% of all corporate political spending during the cycle. Ripple and Coinbase were among the industry's top spenders.
