Crypto Market Dips as Traditional Assets Drag It Down
The crypto market is experiencing a downturn, but it's not due to any internal issues. Instead, it's being driven by external factors, specifically the performance of traditional assets.
Crypto prices are currently down: Bitcoin has slipped to around $63,853, Ethereum eased to about $1,918, XRP dipped near $1.06, and Solana fell to roughly $74.27.
This drop is not surprising given the high correlation between crypto markets and traditional assets, 67% with stocks and 93% with gold. When investors become nervous about interest rates, inflation, or global tensions, they tend to sell off their holdings across the board, including cryptocurrencies.
The recent pullback saw approximately $144.63 million in long positions liquidated, which added to the selling pressure and made the drop feel sharper.
