Crypto Market Drops Amid Escalating Tensions with Iran
The global cryptocurrency market has seen a decline in value, with its total cap falling to $2.68 trillion over the past 24 hours, representing a 1.0% decrease.
This drop is largely attributed to the ongoing tensions between the US and Iran, which escalated over the weekend with a reported strike on Iranian rocket launchers.
The strike was confirmed by US Central Command spokesperson Navy Capt. Tim Hawkins, who stated that it was intended to protect civilian mariners and commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world's most critical oil transit routes.
The IRGC has confirmed casualties among its forces and vowed to retaliate, raising concerns about a broader regional escalation and potential disruptions to oil shipping.
