Crypto Market Enters Wait-and-See Mode Amid Steady Interest Rates

The cryptocurrency market has adopted a wait-and-see attitude after the Federal Reserve's (FRB) decision to maintain interest rates at 3.50% to 3.75%, as announced on July 29. The FOMC meeting saw nine votes in favor of keeping rates steady, with three members advocating for a hike.

CryptoQuant's analysis reveals that ahead of the policy decision, derivative positions for Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) were relatively neutral, indicating traders are avoiding strong directional bias and reducing their exposure to the market. The buy-sell balance for Bitcoin has shifted from a slight buying surplus to neutral.

The FRB's statement emphasized the stability of the labor market and persistent inflation due to energy supply shocks, with no immediate changes to monetary policy. As a result, there is a lack of clear catalysts for active trading in the cryptocurrency market.
