Crypto Market Loses $100M+ to Coldcard Hack as BTC Trades Near Key Moving Average

A major security risk was exposed in the cryptocurrency market after it was confirmed that a Coldcard hack resulted in losses exceeding $100 million. The attack saw 1,596 BTC stolen, highlighting vulnerabilities in crypto custody and wallet security.

Bitcoin traded near $63,824 over the past 24 hours, with its price hovering close to its 200-week moving average of around $63,700. This comes as the total cryptocurrency market capitalization rose to $2.18 trillion, a 1.1% increase from the previous day.

The Fear & Greed Index remained in 'fear' territory at 37, while 24-hour liquidations jumped to $224.06 million, up 117.26%. BNB outperformed with a 4.65% weekly gain, reaching $591.03.
