Crypto Market Loses $390B in Worst Week Since FTX Collapse
The cryptocurrency market saw its worst week since the collapse of FTX in November 2022, with a total loss of approximately $390 billion in value. This represents a decline to just above $2 trillion, down from a peak of nearly $4.2 trillion reached in October 2025.
Bitcoin (BTC) fell by 17.3% across the week, while Ethereum (ETH) dropped by 22%. These are both on track for their steepest weekly losses since November 2022.
The decline was driven by four separate pressures that converged during the week: Strategy's sale of BTC, outflows from US spot BTC exchange-traded funds (ETFs), a stronger-than-expected US jobs report, and rising Treasury yields.
According to CryptoQuant, realized losses since the October 2025 peak total approximately $174 billion. This is still short of the 2022 bear market's record of $211 billion in realized losses across the full cycle.
