Crypto Market on Thin Ice: August Sees Critical Breakouts Loom
Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP are entering August at critical technical levels after facing renewed selling pressure in July. The trio of cryptocurrencies remains within a broader recovery phase following June's correction.
Bitcoin's price is currently trading around $62,865, having faced rejection near the upper boundary of its descending channel. The 20-day moving average has pushed below this level, while the longer-term moving averages continue to slope downward, indicating a bearish trend.
The Relative Strength Index (RSI) for Bitcoin has slipped below the neutral 50 level to around 44, indicating weakening bullish momentum. However, the indicator remains well above oversold territory, leaving room for another recovery attempt if support holds.
Ethereum's price is trading near $1,865 after failing to sustain gains above its rising trendline. The RSI remains close to the neutral level around 51, indicating a balance between buying and selling pressure.
