Crypto Market Pulls Back as Middle East Tensions Escalate
The cryptocurrency market is experiencing a broad pullback as investors adopt a cautious stance. Bitcoin (BTC) is consolidating near its short-term support at $77,000, while Ethereum (ETH) and XRP are also trending lower.
This comes after Iran launched missile and drone attacks on US military installations in Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Iraq in retaliation for American strikes on Monday and Tuesday. The US Central Command reported that recent US strikes were in response to attempted attacks by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) targeting commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz and US forces stationed in the region.
The renewed Middle East tensions have led to a decline in Fear & Greed sentiment, which has dropped from 69 to 63. If this trend continues, it could weigh on price action and lead to further declines in cryptocurrency prices.
