Crypto Market Recovery Hinges on Fed Policy, Institutional Demand, and Stablecoin Liquidity
The prospects of a crypto market recover by the end of 2026 are uncertain. Despite the recent slight recovery, the total crypto market capitalization remains down 43% year-over-year, currently sitting at $2.26 trillion.
The Federal Reserve's monetary policy and global liquidity are critical factors in determining if the crypto market will recover. The current federal funds rate is between 3.5% and 3.75%, which may not be conducive to a recovery, especially with persistent inflation pressure.
Another key factor is institutional demand, particularly from Bitcoin ETFs, which have seen a significant inflow of $51.4 billion since their launch. However, recent inflows have been modest, suggesting that institutional investors remain net long but may not be willing to buy the weakness in a consistent manner.
