Crypto Market Sees Mixed Trading as BTC Slips, DeFi Tokens Surge
The global crypto market experienced mixed-to-lower trading on September 2, with Bitcoin (BTC) falling by 1.60% to $77,462 and Ether (ETH) losing 2.42% to $2,413.61.
Despite the decline in major cryptocurrencies, DeFi tokens saw significant gains, with Uniswap (UNI), Filecoin (FIL), and PYTH Network (PYTH) rising by 16.21%, 13.97%, and 10.04% respectively.
The surge in DeFi tokens is attributed to the growing adoption of decentralized finance protocols and the increasing demand for yield-generating assets.
Meanwhile, macroeconomic policies remain a key driver of market sentiment, with rising US yields and Japan's duration stress tightening global liquidity and pressuring crypto valuations.
