Crypto Market Sees Record Short-Position Liquidation Amid Surging Prices
A sudden surge in cryptocurrency prices has triggered a massive short-position liquidation of $1.22 billion across the market in just one hour, according to CoinGlass. The rally saw Bitcoin soar to $68,310 (+5.46%), Ethereum break through the psychological $2,000 mark, and Solana climb 6.50% to $81.994.
Solana advisor Jeff Park described this market shift as 'AI down, Bitcoin up (again)', suggesting that local weakness in the artificial intelligence sector is clearing the way for cryptocurrencies to rise.
The surge caught bears off guard, with over 111,060 traders having their short positions forcibly closed by exchanges worth a total of $1.46 billion over the past 24 hours.
Will Clemente believes that AI and Bitcoin are actually reinforcing each other, as governments artificially contain bond market volatility through 'volatility suppression', which fuels hidden inflation and turns Bitcoin into a primary safety valve for investors.
