Crypto Market Sentiment Lifts Following Wall Street Rally
The crypto market has seen an increase in overall capitalization following Wall Street's strong rally to usher in August. The Nasdaq Composite Index surged by around 1.8 percent, lifting crypto market capitalization almost a percent. Bitcoin reached a 24-hour high of $63,910 as global markets priced in the prospects of peace in the Middle East.
The CMC Crypto Fear and Greed Index showed a reading of 36 versus 35 a day earlier, indicating improved sentiment. Meanwhile, Strategy Inc (MSTR) reported sales of 1,638 Bitcoins between July 27 and August 2, aggregating to $105 million at an average sale price of $63,957.
However, anxiety surrounding the exploit in the Coldcard hardware wallet limited market gains. Researchers estimated that the attacker had moved around $114 million worth of Bitcoin since July 30. Overall crypto market capitalization increased by 0.88 percent overnight to $2.18 trillion, while trading volumes surged by 22 percent.
