Crypto Market Stagnates as Bitcoin Holds $63,000
The crypto market is experiencing an unusual period of stagnation, with hourly moves across top assets barely budging. The past 24 hours have seen a cluster of changes between minus 2% and plus 3%, indicating that the market is holding its breath rather than finding direction.
A closer look at the year-to-date figures reveals a more dismal picture. Bitcoin has dropped by 28% this year, while most large-cap assets have lost between a third and half of their value since January. Only three top-15 assets are still in the green for 2026: Hyperliquid, TRON, and UNUS SED LEO.
Bitcoin currently trades at $63,018, up 0.06% on the hour but down 1.23% on the day. The market capitalization of Bitcoin sits at $1.26 trillion, with a daily trading volume of $22.73 billion. This relatively thin volume is unusual in a downtrend and may indicate that sellers have stopped panicking rather than buyers arriving.
