Crypto Market Volatility Looms as CLARITY ACT Rumors Intensify
A prominent Ethereum builder, Econar, has warned of potential market volatility due to rumors surrounding the CLARITY ACT. In a recent post on X, he suggested that the market may experience a fake price rally as anticipation for the bill's passage grows.
However, if the ACT is not passed, the market could see a continuous downward trend, potentially leading to lower lows than if nothing had happened at all. Econar noted that the crypto community often follows the pattern of 'buying the rumor and selling the news,' where hype surrounding an event or development leads to increased market activity before the actual outcome is known.
The CLARITY ACT has been a topic of discussion in the crypto space, with recent events suggesting it may be on its way to becoming law. The Senate Banking Committee advanced the bill on May 14th, and House Financial Services held a field hearing on July 17th. According to Galaxy Digital, the bill currently has a 43% to 60% chance of passage before the August recess.
