Crypto Markets Bracing for Volatility as Labor Data Looms
Crypto markets are bracing for a potentially volatile week as traders await key labor market data that could influence the Federal Reserve's next policy move. According to The Kobeissi Letter, six major economic releases are scheduled this week, with employment data taking center stage.
The data calendar includes August Chicago PMI on Monday, followed by ISM Manufacturing PMI and Prices data on Tuesday, along with July JOLTS Job Openings data. Wednesday brings the ADP Nonfarm Employment data, Thursday's ISM Non-Manufacturing PMI and Prices data, and finally, Friday's July Jobs Report.
Employment data carries significant weight for crypto markets as it directly influences the Fed's rate decision at the next FOMC meeting. A strong labor market could reinforce a hawkish tone, keeping rate-cut expectations low and pressuring risk assets like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP.
BTC is currently trading at $78,796.58, up 1.7% over the past week, while ETH is at $2,478.28, up 0.7%. XRP has seen a 7.7% gain over the same period. Solana and BNB have also seen significant gains, with SOL at $106.44 and BNB roughly flat.
