Crypto Markets Hold Steady as SEC Weighs Tokenized Stock Exemption
The cryptocurrency market remained largely flat over the past 24 hours, with Bitcoin trading near $63,740 and Ethereum around $1,885. The total crypto market cap held steady at $2.19 trillion, while 24-hour liquidations fell to $164.14 million. Despite this stability, some assets saw significant price movements, including Solana, which climbed 3.52% weekly to $76.33, and BNB, which surged 2.09% daily to $612.36.
The SEC could unveil a tokenized stock trading exemption as soon as Friday, according to recent reports. This potential development would mark another step towards greater adoption of crypto and tokenized assets in the financial sector. Meanwhile, Kalshi reported annualized revenue topping $4 billion in July, doubling in just two months.
While the Fear & Greed Index remains at 37, indicating a 'fear' sentiment among investors, the Altcoin Season Index has eased to 43. This mixed signal suggests that market participants are approaching cryptocurrency with caution, but also see potential for growth.
