Crypto Markets on Brink of Breakout or Breakdown Amid Clarity Act Uncertainty
Crypto markets are approaching a potentially pivotal moment as the US Senate continues to work on the Clarity Act, a bill aimed at clarifying cryptocurrency regulations. The uncertainty surrounding the legislation's progress has sparked concern among market commentators.
Dan Gambardello notes that crypto 'hates uncertainty' and points to ongoing US strikes on Iranian military targets and mixed signals from Washington over the Clarity Act's prospects as contributing factors. He emphasizes that a favorable legislative development or a reduction in geopolitical tension could provide the necessary certainty for a technical breakout.
The next few business days are crucial, with August 7 being a potential deadline before recess. A sustained move toward $72,000 would be a major bullish signal for Bitcoin, while failure below $61,000 to $59,000 could bring it toward a longer-term Fibonacci range between about $48,000 and $57,000.
Ethereum and Cardano are also approaching key reversal tests. Ethereum is trading above a descending trendline, but a push toward the 200-day average near $2,100 would demand attention. A weaker outcome could send ETH toward $1,500, while Cardano may revisit $0.13 and slide toward $0.10 to $0.12 if it weakens sharply.
