Crypto Markets on High Alert for $10 Billion Options Expiry
Crypto markets are bracing for potential volatility this Friday as nearly 149,000 Bitcoin options contracts approach expiry. The contracts have a notional value of around $9.57 billion and will expire on July 31.
This is significantly larger than usual end-of-month events, which can trigger spot market fluctuations due to the increased demand for liquidity. As a result, crypto markets may experience heightened volatility in the coming days.
The week has already seen $25 billion in outflows from the crypto space following the Federal Reserve's decision to leave interest rates unchanged and the resumption of US-Iran military action.
