Cryptocurrency markets have taken a hit in morning trading, with several major digital assets experiencing losses due to waning risk appetite.

Bitcoin was among those affected, dipping 1.59% to $77,081.04 as it struggled to maintain recent levels.

Ethereum saw steeper losses, plummeting 3.66% to $2,423.10 and becoming one of the sharper drops in the large-cap coins.

Avalanche also felt the pain, falling 4.16% to $7.51 - the worst performance among its peers.
