Crypto Markets See Lowest Perpetual Futures Volume Since December 2023
Crypto markets have seen a significant decline in perpetual futures trading volume on centralized exchanges. According to recent data, monthly perpetual futures volume fell to its lowest level in 31 months last month, reaching about $4 trillion. This is a substantial drop from previous levels, and it marks the lowest point since December 2023.
The majority of this volume came from Binance, which led all exchanges with about $1.4 trillion in volume. OKX followed closely behind with around $600 billion, while Bybit handled approximately $300 billion. The decentralized exchange perpetual futures market also saw a significant decline, with data showing perpetual futures volume totaling $531 billion last month.
The drop in trading volume is not limited to perpetual futures alone. CoinGlass data revealed that daily spot crypto trading volume fell sharply last month, dropping 23.6% from $17.8 billion on July 1 to $13.6 billion on July 31.
