Crypto Markets See Record $326M Liquidations as Long Positions Unwind
Crypto derivatives markets saw a massive wave of forced liquidations over the past 24 hours, totaling $326.71 million in leveraged positions wiped out due to price swings and increased volatility.
The majority of these liquidations came from long-side losses, with approximately $285.87 million (87.5%) of the total coming from long positions, while short liquidations accounted for about $40.84 million (12.5%).
Binance led the exchanges in terms of liquidations, with around $17.33 million (44.3% of the total) liquidated in the last four hours, with shorts making up 55.94% of these liquidations.
Ethereum (ETH) saw significant liquidation stress, with about $142.40 million liquidated over 24 hours and a four-hour peak near $3.78 million, underscoring its outsized role in the current leverage cycle.
