Crypto Markets Steady as Samsung's Chip Profit Surges
Crypto markets have steadied after two weeks of volatility in semiconductor stocks, where Samsung's chip profit surged over 250-fold due to AI memory shortages. The Kospi index swung between a 6% gain and a 2% loss before settling.
Despite the turmoil in equity markets and a correction in big tech, major cryptocurrencies have shown only mild declines this week. Bitcoin is trading around $64,100 and ether near $1,905, with XRP at $1.07.
The semiconductor selloff has driven markets for two weeks but showed its first real sign of easing on Thursday. Volumes were modest, with roughly $28 billion changing hands in bitcoin and $10 billion in ether.
