Crypto Markets Under Pressure as Weak Risk Appetite Weighs on Bitcoin and Ethereum
Crypto markets are under pressure due to weak risk appetite, keeping Bitcoin near $64K and Ethereum underperforming. According to CoinMarketCap, the global crypto market capitalization edged down 2% to $2.19 trillion in the past 24 hours.
Both Bitcoin and Ethereum were down 2%, while major altcoins such as BNB, XRP, Solana, Tron, Hyperliquid, Dogecoin, and Cardano corrected up to 3%. Riya Sehgal, Research Analyst at Delta Exchange, noted that Bitcoin's one-year realized volatility is near 42%, close to multi-year lows, while the broader Bitcoin implied-volatility gauge is around 37.
Nischal Shetty, Founder of WazirX, said that crypto markets ended the week on a steady note, with Bitcoin trading in the $64,500-$66,300 range and Ethereum fluctuating between $1,860 and $1,930. He attributed this to positive regulatory developments and sustained institutional participation, although renewed geopolitical tensions later prompted a modest pullback.
