A total of approximately $1.6 billion in Bitcoin options contracts is set to expire this Friday, February 21, but traders are bracing for minimal market impact. This week's expiration event is relatively small compared to previous ones and suggests that the spot markets will remain unaffected, which have been hovering within a narrow range all week.

The current batch of Bitcoin options shows a put/call ratio of 0.75, indicating a slight dominance of call (long) contracts over puts (shorts) set to expire. According to Deribit, the open interest in these contracts remains highest at the $120,000 strike price, totaling $1.8 billion.

Ethereum contracts are also nearing expiration, with around 153,000 options valued at approximately $420 million set to expire today. However, this event is unlikely to have a significant impact on the market due to its relatively small size and low volatility.
