Crypto Payment Cards Hit Record Volume in July
Crypto payment cards reached a record high in July, processing $758.8 million in transactions, according to data from Paymentscan and the crypto arm of investment firm Andreessen Horowitz (a16z). This is a significant increase from last year's volume of around $306 million, and nearly 2.5 times higher than the same period in 2025.
The growth can be attributed to the increasing adoption of stablecoins as a primary payment asset. In July, USDC and USDT accounted for over 80% of all spending, with USDC making up around 58% and USDT around 26%. This is a significant shift from earlier this year, when euro-denominated stablecoin EURe was the dominant player.
The number of purchases also continues to rise, with nearly 9 million transactions made using crypto payment cards in July. The average transaction size was around $86. RedotPay led the way in terms of volume, processing over $395 million in transactions.
