The current banking system requires account holders to provide identification, pass checks, and control their accounts directly. However, AI agents cannot complete these steps because they exist as software.

Crypto wallets solve part of this problem by allowing software to send and receive digital assets. Developers can program an agent to pay for data, computing power, storage, or access to online services.
