Crypto Platforms Lose $3.63 Billion to Security Incidents

Crypto platforms have lost over $3.63 billion to security incidents between January 2025 and July 2026, according to a recent report from CoinGecko.

The majority of these losses came from just 10 major breaches, which accounted for more than 72% of the total amount stolen.

Infrastructure and supply-chain vulnerabilities were identified as the biggest sources of damage across both centralized exchanges and decentralized exchanges, resulting in combined losses exceeding $1.8 billion.
