Crypto Prices Extend Rally as XRP, Solana, and Dogecoin Reach Key Levels
Crypto prices surged on August 19, driven by several developments that provided a boost to risk assets. The U.S. Treasury announced plans to double its long-term bond buybacks from $2 billion to at least $4 billion per operation starting in September. This announcement was seen as supporting expectations of more liquidity, lower yields, and a weaker dollar.
Short liquidations also played a role in the market's upward move. Approximately $1 billion to $1.4 billion worth of bearish positions were liquidated within an hour as prices rose. Forced purchases from these liquidations helped push the market further upward.
The White House held a crypto summit involving President Trump and major industry figures, while the SEC proposed Regulation Crypto Assets, a framework designed to provide clearer rules and certain exemptions for crypto investments. These developments contributed to yesterday's rally, but today's question is whether XRP, Solana, and Dogecoin can extend their moves or consolidate due to overbought conditions.
XRP price tested the $1.08 support level after its 13% rally, with the immediate range now running from $1.08 to $1.12. If neither side establishes control, XRP could remain inside this zone. A move above $1.12 could open the way toward $1.16 today, while losing $1.08 could expose the next downside area around $1.04.
Solana price targets $87 after climbing from $77 to $87 yesterday. The bullish case depends heavily on clearing yesterday's high of $87. If Solana can maintain strong momentum, it could extend toward $93 today. A move below $83 would weaken the current setup and potentially send SOL back toward $78.
Dogecoin price faces $0.076 resistance as $0.073 support becomes crucial. A break below $0.073 could send Dogecoin toward $0.070, with $0.068 becoming another possible downside level if selling pressure grows. The bullish case depends heavily on overcoming the $0.076 resistance.
