Crypto Prices Plummet Ahead of CLARITY Act Vote
Bitcoin and Ether's price action over the weekend was marked by sharp declines as traders grew anxious about Tuesday's Senate vote on the CLARITY Act. According to crypto trader Ash Crypto, the move was a result of 'low liquidity weekend dump' that saw Bitcoin fall from around $77,450 to a wick near $76,827, a decline of 0.8%. Similarly, Ether dropped from approximately $2,516.58 to $2,484.54, or about 1.3%, before recovering towards the $2,490 price level.
The CLARITY Act cloture needs 60 Senate votes for passage on Tuesday, which would advance the debate. If passed, it could have significant implications for the cryptocurrency market and regulatory landscape.
Thin weekend liquidity amplified the sharp downside wicks across both major cryptocurrencies, making the price action even more pronounced.
