Crypto Privacy Report Challenges Transparency Myth
CoinRabbit and ChangeNOW have released a report on financial privacy in digital assets. The study argues that crypto privacy is not just a tool for illicit activity, but also a protective measure against authoritarian oppression, corporate data leaks, and targeted attacks.
The report combines data from multiple sources to highlight the growing need for confidentiality on public ledgers. It shows that transparency can be a double-edged sword, exposing personal financial data and making it vulnerable to risks such as economic restrictions and physical extortion.
According to CoinRabbit's internal research, there have been 52 verified 'wrench' attacks in the first half of 2026 alone, resulting in over $124 million stolen. The study also notes that corporate data breaches can average $4.44 million, making it a significant concern for companies.
The report rejects the idea that privacy and compliance are mutually exclusive. It highlights two architectural models that demonstrate how principles of responsible privacy work in real-world infrastructure: CoinRabbit's Custodial Architecture and ChangeNOW's Private Crypto Transfers.
